Who is the new team that the New York Islanders have signed?
The team that will be playing for the Islanders starting on Sunday in the Barclays Center is called the New Jersey Devils.
The New Jersey team has the names of all the players on its roster, and they are: defenseman Andrew Ladd, forward Matt Moulson, forward Mark Pysyk, defenseman Matt Donovan, forward Michael Ryder, forward Blake Speers, forward Justin Williams, defenseman Nikita Kucherov, forward Kyle Palmieri, goaltender Cory Schneider and goaltender Carter Hutton.
The Islanders announced the signing on Wednesday morning.
The new team will play its first game in Brooklyn on Sunday.
It is not yet known what role the Devils will play in the preseason, but it is likely that they will be on the ice as the preseason tournament heats up.
The team will be looking to win its first two games of the season, and the first two will be against the New England Patriots and New York Rangers.
The first game will be in Boston on Oct. 30.
The next game will likely be in New York on Nov. 5.
New Jersey will play four preseason games against the other five teams on its schedule.
The Devils will have a home game against the Carolina Hurricanes on Oct, 31, and a road game against a visiting Carolina Hurricanes team on Nov., 1.
